Art – Painting Dinosaurs
Artists love the grotesque, and dinosaurs certainly fit that description. Also, since we know so little about living dinosaurs I(what color were they? Did they have feathers or scales?), the artist is allowed to use his imagination. We could do many more of these, separating them into specific dinosaur types, if they prove popular enoufgh. Be sure to watch the final portion of the video, dealing with the extinction of dinosaurs. Extinction theories have provoked some strong art. Music is Igor Stravinsky’s “Le sacre du printemps” (or “Rite of Spring”), which has been used many times for the early evolution of the Earth, including Disney’s first Fantasia. Because Stravinsky’s piece is over 36 minutes long, I’ve worked with just the first 10-and-a-half minutes to match the art. The video is over when you reach the word “Extinction.”
